history
Masons Apron Northwest Clog Morris was formed in 1981, and is based in Long Hanborough, Oxfordshire
The original Masons Apron practised at The Masons Arms in Headinton which is where their name came from. Since then because a number of dancers joined from the Witney and Long Hanborough area it was decided to move to the present headquarters. We were first taught dances by The Hertfordshire Hollies some of which are still danced. Since then we have attended several workshops, collected dances from other generous sides and created two garland dances of our own. From our early days we have been fortunate to have wonderful musicians. Our first musician was John Graham from Headington Quarry. During this time Steve Griffiths joined the band and has stayed with us, does he deserve a medal? from time to time others have joined and moved on. Today the band consists of Steve Griffiths on the accordion, Mike Richardson trombone, Mike Shrimpton on drum, Bob Dunlop on the melodeon and Jules Brooks on whistle
