Day of dance at Bourton on the water Saturday 2nd June
2007
On a
bright, sunny Saturday at the beginning of June the Cotswold town of Bourton
on the Water played host to Masons Apron’s annual day of dance. We were
joined this year by sides from near and far and it was great to see many old
friends as well as meet new ones. After such a wet weekend over the bank
holiday on the previous weekend there was a real holiday mood with many
visitors stopping to watch and ask about the types of dancing. There were
all types of dance styles represented from rapper, step clog and Appalachian
to north west clog and Cotswold of course. Dance spots were all close to each
other and we would like to thank in particular the Duke of Wellington, The Manse
and the Kingsbridge for allowing us to dance on their sites. One
of the highlights of the day is the time to stop and chat at the end over a
cup of tea try not to eat too much cake. At the beginning of the day there
was a slight worry that there might not be enough cake but fortunately there
was plenty to go round. As usual we collected for a charity through out the
day and there was really positive response from the audience that the money
was going to a worthwhile cause. We look forward to next year’s day of dance
and welcoming everyone again.
See
you all next year. Thank you Lesley
